New Strategies

The following two links are examples of new strategies taken up by the Music Industry in an attempt to increase sales. The first shows how the industry has worked with it's traditional products - the physical artefact - and attempts to make it more attractive: Why Katy Perry's new album actually stinks

The second shows how the industry is attempting to expand into completely new markets that are still attractive to the music consumer: HMV booms as fans go Gaga for headphones

You should have notes on both articles and be able to explain how they show changes to the industry.
